This volume divides the history of this nation into periods from the ancient, classical, Macedonia and Alexender the Great, the Græco-Roman civilization, Byzantine Empire, the struggle for independence, the Greek involvement in both World Wars and modern times. What I like are the contemporary quotes prefacing each chapter. Although a lot is covered in this book, it is a good introduction for those interested in Greek History to start.
